Protecting your personal data, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the "General Data Protection Regulation" or "GDPR") and with Law No. 133/2011 of the Republic of Moldova on the protection of personal data, is a priority for us.
This Privacy Policy describes what personal data we collect, for what purposes and on what legal basis we process it, how long we keep it, to whom we may disclose it, what rights you have and how you can exercise them.

2. What is GDPR?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the European Union framework applicable since 25 May 2018, which governs how personal data is processed and transferred and replaces Directive 95/46/EC. Under the GDPR, any data controller processing personal data must apply appropriate security measures and maintain full transparency regarding how that data is used.
3. What personal data do we collect
We collect personal data, usually directly from you, when you:
- Purchase products: name, phone number, e-mail address and delivery address;
- Contact customer service: name and contact details, so that we can respond to you;
- Interact with us: take part in contests, submit job applications or attend events;
- Browse the site: technical data collected automatically (see section 5.1).
4. Purposes of processing and legal basis (Art. 6 GDPR)
We process your personal data solely for the purposes below, each based on a distinct legal basis under Art. 6 GDPR:

5. Details of specific processing activities
5.1. Visiting valent.md
When you visit https://valent.md/, our servers automatically log technical data (log files), including the referring URL, IP address, date/time of access, browser type and operating system. The IP address may be used to estimate your approximate location, but it is not stored for geolocation purposes after the session ends.
5.2. Recruitment
If you apply through our careers page, we process your data to evaluate your application. The data is stored in a secure database protected against unauthorized access, and is retained according to the period indicated in section 7.
5.3. Communication with customers
We may contact you, directly or through external providers, regarding products purchased or services you subscribed to, by e-mail, SMS, phone calls or automated messages.
5.4. Legal obligations
We cooperate with authorities and law enforcement to comply with applicable law and may disclose personal data when required by a court order or another legal basis.
5.5. Web analytics and Google Tag Manager (Google Analytics / Yandex Metrika)
We use Google Tag Manager to manage the scripts on the site, through which tools such as Google Analytics and Yandex Metrika may be loaded, in order to understand how users interact with our website (e.g. pages visited, time spent on the site, browser type), for the purpose of optimizing the platform. Google Tag Manager and the analytics/marketing scripts it may load are not activated on your first visit to the site: they are blocked by default by the consent banner described in section 6 and are only loaded after the visitor gives their consent, where consent is required by law. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
5.6. Personalised advertising
You may see targeted ads based on your browsing behaviour or past purchases. Our partners use cookies to measure the effectiveness of ads and to display relevant content, based on your consent.
5.7. Direct marketing
We may send you updates about new products, special offers and events, based on your consent or, for existing customers, on the basis of legitimate interest, within the limits permitted by law. You can unsubscribe at any time, free of charge, using the unsubscribe link in the communications received or by contacting us at the details indicated in section 1.
5.8. Contact form
Through the contact form we collect your name, contact details and the content of your message, solely in order to respond to your request. Providing this data is necessary in order to respond to the request; the data is retained according to the period indicated in section 7.
5.9. Third-party links
Our website may contain links to external sites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of third parties and recommend that you read their policies before using them.
6. Cookie policy and consent banner
Cookies help recognize you on return visits and improve the functionality of the site. On your first visit to the site, a consent banner allows you to accept, reject or customize cookies by category. Strictly necessary cookies always run; all other scripts (analytics, marketing) remain technically blocked until you give your consent. We use the following categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies – ensure the basic functioning of the site (e.g. shopping cart, authentication); do not require consent;
- Statistical/analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Yandex Metrika) – help us understand how the site is used; require consent;
- Marketing/advertising cookies – used to display relevant ads; require consent;
- Storage duration ranges from session cookies (deleted when the browser is closed) to persistent cookies (up to 24 months);
- Consent for cookies can be withdrawn at any time from the browser settings or from the cookie banner/management panel on the site.

7. Data retention periods
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or in accordance with applicable legal obligations:

8. Data recipients
All parties processing your personal data on our behalf are contractually and legally required to protect it. Your data may be shared, to the extent necessary, with:
- Employees involved in order processing and logistics;
- Banking and payment service providers;
- Market research and marketing/telemarketing partners;
- IT and hosting service providers;
- Public authorities or courts, where required by law.
9. International data transfers
Certain providers we use, such as Google (Tag Manager, Analytics) and Yandex Metrika, may involve the transfer of data outside the Republic of Moldova and/or the European Economic Area. When such transfers take place, we ensure that they benefit from appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or other mechanisms recognized by applicable data protection law. On 16 July 2026, we signed a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with Google, which governs the conditions under which Google processes data on our behalf.
10. Rights of the data subject
As a data subject, you have the following rights under the GDPR:
- The right of access – to obtain confirmation and a copy of the data processed;
- The right to rectification – to request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- The right to erasure ("the right to be forgotten") – under the conditions provided in Art. 17 GDPR;
- The right to restriction of processing – in certain situations provided by law;
- The right to data portability – to receive the data in a structured format and transmit it to another controller;
- The right to object – to processing based on legitimate interest or direct marketing;
- The right to withdraw consent – at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing;
- The right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning you;
- The right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, you can contact us using the details in section 1. We will respond to your request within the period provided by law.
11. Supervisory authority
If you consider that the processing of your personal data infringes applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with:
- The National Center for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Moldova (NCPDP), for data subjects in the Republic of Moldova;
- The competent supervisory authority in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement, for data subjects in the European Union.
12. Security measures
We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, accidental loss or destruction, including:
- encryption of sensitive data in transit and, where applicable, at rest;
- access control, based on roles and the "need to know" principle;
- periodic backups;
- secure authentication mechanisms for internal systems;
- monitoring of systems to identify security incidents;
- periodic staff training on the protection of personal data.
13. Updates to the policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect legislative or operational changes. The updated version will be published on this page, together with the date of the last modification.
